Hello,

We are hoping you can assist us, as we are trying to visit my grandfather’s grave who is buried in Cork. His name is Timothy Joseph Ryan born October 30th 1900 and died October 6th 1966.

We live in Australia and will be visiting Ireland in September this year and wish to visit his grave.

He was the first “Sergeant In Charge” at Ballyduff Garda Station and likely well known in the area.

We have scant information other than he was an IRA member and awarded by the Irish Government the “Cogaha Na Saoirse”  medal  and was buried in Cork. Tom Barry organised a  firing party discharging a volley of shots over his coffin.

We have looked through the available records we can access online in the right timelines that being Matethy, Kilcully and Dunbullogue and are unable to locate his grave and there seems to be many cemeteries in Cork.

Is there a service we can pay for to assist us?  or is there someone who can assist us please, and information or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to get information on my great uncle who served during the war of independence.

His name is Jimmy or James Horan  and he was with K Coy 3rd Battalion Dublin Brigade.

His wife was in receipt of the pension but I cannot find any trace of him.

There was another James Horan but he was killed in action down south.

Dear Sirs,

We as a family are interested in understanding more of my grandfather Mr Vincent Keeley .

He lived at 54 Griffith Avenue, Dublin.

We believe and have evidence that he was a member of “H” Company, 2nd Battalion, IRA.

I have a press cutting from our Grandmothers funeral where this is mentioned.

I also am in possession of a 1916 Rising Medal.

We have searched over the years and not recovered anything to help us understand more.
