Garry,
I met you at the military exhibition at Sundays Well Gaol, Cork, last weekend. I spoke with you about an old War of Independence medal (Black & Tan) belonging to my late grand uncle. You kindly said you’d try check what part he played, however small, in the War of Independence.
His details are as follows:
Name: Edward Buckley
Address: 12 Well Lane, Cork (later Redemption Road,Cork);
Born: around 1890
Died: 1966
Trade in 1911: shop porter, also gunner in Cork RGA (Reserve Army?)
If you had any info on his activities, I’d be delighted to know. I was very young when he died, but I remember him as a friendly man.
Regards,
Jim Fitzpatrick
